Welcome to Maracaípe, Brazil

The beach of Maracaipe is suitable for surfing, has deep waters, and huge waves. Maracaípe hosts a leg of the Brazilian Surf Tournament and one phase of the international surf calendar. There are coconut trees, and Mangrove vegetation.

The main draw for tourism is the beach of Porto de Galinhas, selected eight times as the best beach in Brazil by Travel & Tourism magazine, whose main attractions are the natural pools visited by thousands of tourists annually

History

Maracaípe is a beach that is part of the municipality of Ipojuca in Pernambuco. Its coast is an extension of the Porto de Galinhas coast. This resort is located just 75 km south of the city of Recife. Maracaípe is known as a resort rich in nature reserves. Here you can take many tourist walks between October and February (Brazilian summer). The Pontal de Maracaipe is known for its extraordinary landscapes and surfing competitions. Maracaípe is ideal for those who want to get away from the city by immersing themselves in an almost 100% natural environment.

Things to do

This long stretch of powdery white sand backed by coconut groves is one of Ipojuca’s most beautiful beaches. Go for a stroll along the Maracaípe Beach seashore and dip your feet in the warm water. Try different water sports and enjoy the scenery from one of the beach bars. Wake up early and watch the sun come up over the Atlantic Ocean.

When hunger strikes, visit one of the bars that spread along the beach. Dine on plates of fresh crab and Brazilian snacks such as coixinha, which is balls of battered and deep-fried chicken. Quench your thirst with a cold beer or freshly-squeezed fruit juice.
